Better Than This Campaign Goes Global
As the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk continues to develop, it has been encouraging to see the universal acceptance of the values of the #Betterthanthis campaign. We have seen during the existence of this program violence against prominent leaders of both political parties. Political violence in all its forms should be condemned. It weakens our political systems, harms human life, and can create a cyclical escalation of violence. If you are one of the millions of Americans who agree that political violence is never the answer, record a video sharing your views at this link. Adding your voice and showing your support for democratic political processes is essential to protecting the values we all hold dear.
This week, we brought together everyday Americans, current and former elected officials, and bridging organizations in a shared commitment to demonstrate that we are #BetterThanThis. We are thankful for the hundreds of people who have reposted our graphics and created their own on the issue of reducing political violence. We must show that for every person willing to engage in political violence, millions condemn it. We must not let these tragic episodes of violence and hatred define who we are. We invite you to continue sharing the content and contributing your own support and statements on across any social media platform and other forums you feel appropriate. Thank you for showing that we are #BetterThanThis.
Help Choose Our 2025 Issue
As we continue to narrow down our Common Sense American research topic, we would still greatly appreciate your viewpoints on perspective topics so we can choose a topic that will most support our members. The 2025 Rate-The-Issues (RTI) survey is open, focusing on the most compelling opportunities for bipartisan cooperation drawn from extensive conversations with congressional offices from both parties. The issues in this survey focus on policy proposals that leaders trust will receive support from across the aisle.
We are actively meeting with congressional offices to share our members’ views and help select an issue with strong bipartisan support to work on this year. Our past track record and the additional promise of working with these groups make it clear that weighing in as a CommonSense American is a more powerful way than ever to make a real difference. Your opinions can inform influential bipartisan legislation in 2025. Weigh in and Rate The Issues today!
