Braver Angels and CommonSense American are each finding common ground on immigration. By joining CommonSense American and completing the immigration policy brief, you’ll make an impact as Congress considers action. Senior members of the Commonsense Coalition in Congress, the group responsible for nearly every major legislative victory over the last 10 years, have asked CSA to play an especially central role in their work on immigration. You’ll be joining CommonSense American with an immediate chance for your thoughts to shape legislative debates. These Republican and Democratic members of Congress are eager to hear what you think.
The brief describes policy proposals actively under consideration, and makes the strongest case for and against each one. You’ll have the chance to form your own opinion, informed by the best available evidence and arguments. We hope you’ll become a CommonSense American and share your thoughts soon!

These are policy briefs, not position papers. Our staff doesn’t draw conclusions about what the right answers are, but works hard to make the strongest case for each competing perspective.

Each member reviews the brief and weighs in.
Members commit to spend an hour or more each year reviewing the brief. They indicate whether they support or oppose each proposal described.
4. SHARE YOUR OWN VIEWS
Staff shares the overall results and members share their own views.
Staff and members hold more than 50 congressional meetings on our overall results each year. Members are also encouraged to share their own individual views with their members of Congress. Combined, we give Congress a powerful reflection of what Americans think having had a chance to get fully informed on the issue.
